Anouncing the “Made Ya Look” Media System!

This morning I was taking a look at Twitter when I saw this tweet by the iconic blog comic Iowahawk (last seen wearing a bag over his head in conversation with Cynthia Yockey and me):

Although I sighed at the thought of another Bachmann gaffe, or another bad picture of her, I clicked over—because Iowahawk is always funny. Lo and behold, the page was not what I expected:

A tough campaign really changes a woman!

Skim over the story; no trace of a Michelle Bachmann gaffe—nor any mention of phallic corndogs:

Firearms from the ATF’s Operation Fast and Furious weapons trafficking investigation turned up at the scenes of at least 11 violent crimes in the U.S., as well as at a Border Patrol agent’s slaying in southern Arizona last year, the Justice Department has acknowledged to Congress.

The department did not provide details about the crimes. But The Times has learned that they occurred in several Arizona cities, including Phoenix, where Fast and Furious was managed, as well as in El Paso, where a total of 42 weapons from the operation were seized at two crime scenes.

I was going to chalk it up to a cute case of “RickRolling,” when it hit me: for many on the left who get their news exclusively from the MSM—and clicked over to Dave Burge’s page—it was likely the very first time they had seen the words “Operation Fast and Furious”!

To those of us who follow the leading blogs, this story is almost old hat, but Iowahawk’s innovation has given us a new tool for getting stories out to leftists who never look beyond the MSM or the lefty blogs: the Made Ya Look Media System™.

Yes, the Made Ya Look Media System™ has the potential of introducing members of the left to all kinds of stories the MSM have ignored:

“Hey, it’s Rick Perry on his secret slave plantation!” Sorry, it’s a link to a story on climategate e-mails.

“Look! Larry Flint has produced photos of Sarah Palin and Christine O’Donnell in a hot lesbian rendezvous!” Oops—it’s an article about an Ohio businessman who was shot for being non-union.

The possibilities are endless.  With the Iowahawk Made Ya Look Media System™ approach, we could actually turn the left into informed citizens!

You may scoff—but you clicked on this story after seeing the hot woman at the top of the page, didn’t you? We made you look.
