MMFA paid liar and Soros shill Eric Boehlert had fun getting together with fellow ex-JournoLister Dave Weigel this morning on Twitter:
Left unconsidered, somehow, were Soros’ woes concerning a lawsuit in which it is alleged he assaulted his 28-year-old former Brazilian lover after announcing he’d given a NYC apartment he’d promised to her to another girlfriend:
The actress says she had been in a relationship with him for five years before he dumped her last year. But, according to a lawsuit filed in Manhattan Supreme Court, there was a brief reconciliation in August last year in which the couple spent a night together at Mr Soros’s home in New York’s Upper East Side.
It was there that Mr Soros allegedly made one of his rare misjudgments.
Miss Ferreyr claims that while they were in bed Mr Soros, who has an estimated £8.9billion fortune, ‘bluntly’ told her that a £1.2million apartment he had promised her in New York had been given to another woman.
Matters were not helped when the Hungarian-born financier allegedly added: ‘I gave it to my girlfriend and she is flourishing.’
In the inevitable row which followed, ‘Mr Soros slapped Miss Ferreyr across the face and proceeded to put his hands around her neck in an attempt to choke her,’ the lawsuit claims. Miss Ferreyr says she managed to evade him and picked up a glass lamp to protect herself. Mr Soros then allegedly grabbed the lamp and tried to hit her with it, narrowly missing.
She claims she ran into the office next to Mr Soros’s bedroom and called police.
Soros’ lawyer adamantly denies the charges, stating that the Brazilian actress is a blackmailer and gold digger, though a witness to their relationship claimed that Soros seems rather to have enjoyed humiliating the woman:
“He always had one table for the men, one for the women, and one for the kids,” said a friend of the Hungarian investing guru. “The Brazilian was always seated at the kids’ table, and she didn’t look too happy.”
Undoubtedly, many other Brazilian soap stars would be willing to jump into his bed and gladly suffer these slights based only on the 81-year-old Hungarian’s physical and intellectual charms, so given the nature of hearsay evidence, it may be hard for the actress to prevail in her lawsuit. It’s the kind of claim that other high-powered businessmen may on occasion be subject to, I think.
Still waiting for Boehlert to comment on the scandal.
UPDATE: Thanks for the Instalanche, Glenn!

Well, of course they are just being silly about what Glenn’s point is—they are either lying, or simply don’t understand that what he’s pointing out is the double standard applied to Cain vs. Obama, since the latter was elected to the Presidency with nearly no scrutiny.
He was not, in fact, suggesting that Obama’s past harbored an actual sex scandal, which is the hypocrisy point rather than the double-standard point. For that angle, he invokes the media role in suppressing information about John Edwards, back when he was running for President.
They don’t care what his point is, so I thought I’d illustrate the depth of their concern.
They know Glenn’s point, but to pretend otherwise is to acknowledge the weakness of the attack and Boehiert isn’t paid for that and Dave, though a nice guy, prefers the snark line
Interesting intentional misrepresentation of Glenn’s argument by Journolist. Perhaps they could see Glenn’s argument was getting a little traction so they wanted to get the word out to the rest of Journolist that the approach will be that Glenn’s argument isn’t serious and shouldn’t be responded to seriously.
BTW, I love the Soros piece. If those accusations are true, he sounds like a real jerk, waiting until afterward, dropping the bomb, rubbing it in, getting violent. I’m surprised I never heard about it.
Following Victor Davis Hanson’s theory, I guess Soros had bought enough indulgences from the Church of Liberalism that they knew he had a good soul regardless of the accusations.
Thanks. You probably missed it because that laundry was largely aired in the British press.
Who raised the ‘baseless’ questions about Obama’s citizenship? The mainstream media? Politico? No. Sure, Pennsylvania Democrat Philip Berg and Hillary Clinton’s campaign staff raised questions, but the mainstream media made no effort to find the answer. The only evidence that could render the questions ‘baseless’ — the original birth certificate — was not released until April of this year, and the release wasn’t requested by anyone in the mainstream media or Politico.
True enough. But why would we require information like that in the first place? It’s not as though Obama’s paid millions keeping that kind of record sealed.
I’d like to know whether the “under the radar” work on gun controll President Obama promised is related in anyway to the Fast & Furious debacle. Another non-non-existent scandal of some importance. A Watergate / Iran Contra with Los Zetas and Mexican drug cartels killing a US Border Patrol Office and an ICE Agent DEAD with walked weapons sold under as a part of Fast & Furious. What’s that I hear? Crickets in the MSM and at Media Matters?
Hey. A couple of hundred dead Mexicans and a couple of Border Patrol people? What is that, in the pursuit of the greater cause of a citizenry that cannot any longer threaten the .Gov with their Second Amendment rights?
Some obscure charges of Sexual Harassment, OTOH, are a serious threat to the integrity of the whole structure of the .Gov as the elites would have it. And you don’t dare upset their apple cart, or you will be vilified. Ask Sarah Palin about that one. Or Robert Bork. Or maybe even Clarence Thomas.
