According to police reports, Zimmerman stated that Trayvon Martin’s last words after being shot were to say twice, “Okay, you got it.” I’m imagining “it” refers to the gun Zimmerman had holstered to his waist which Zimmerman claims he and Martin fought over when Martin noticed it as he was bashing Zimmerman’s head into the ground and trying to smother him.
Also according to Zimmerman’s account, which police believed, he got on top of Martin to hold him down after shooting him, not realizing that he’d wounded him fatally.
