…I was 18 and naive.
The guy was exciting, and I believed in him. He was a rock star. He made me feel smart, he inspired me to think I had a future with him.
When the night was over, I had done my job and he had made it to climax… but I didn't really have much to do with it. He did it without me.
As time went on, I saw that he promised stuff to all the ladies. I was feeling less special and less smart. When the opportunity came around again, and he asked me again — said thanks, but no thanks. Being around him made me feel dirty. I saw him using other women all over the place, and shook my head. For my fellow young idiots, I had some sympathy, but I was disgusted with the older women who said stuff like this:
"I would be happy to give him a blowjob just to thank him for keeping abortion legal. I think American women should be lining up with their presidential kneepads on to show their gratitude for keeping the theocracy off our backs."
Yes, I was talking about voting for Bill Clinton. In 1992, I was a freshman in college in NC (which went for GHWB), and I was your standard college liberal Democrat. Obviously, a lot has changed in 20 years.
This ad makes me very uncomfortable.Bad judgment by the Obama campaign. I don’t want a President who jokes about being “eye candy” for the women on the View, or who stoops to calling Romney a b***s****er to a Rolling Stone reporter so he can appear to be cool.Just ugh.
Quite possibly the creepiest Presidential ad I’ve ever seen. I thought it was a joke, or maybe created by a weird supporter, until I saw his logo at the end. I can’t believe the President actually put out something so undignified as that. Wow.
What is it with the Obama campaign constantly sexualizing women?? I’d like to think there’s more to me than my reproductive system, thanks very much!
This is one of the most stupid ads I have ever seen. The Obama campaign truly is patronizing and belittling women. Don’t they realize it will back fire because so many of us are sick and tired of people telling us what to do and how to think. Who is running that campaign anyway?
This Obama campaign ad is degrading to women. Let’s get the young female vote by telling them to vote and relate it to a sexual experience…. think of Obama, doing it the first time.
Well, we see how the Obama/campaign look at women… just a piece of a$$. Wow. Let’s don’t talk to young female voters with an intelligent message… let’s talk to them like they’re horney females. And if they are horney females, they will fall for the message that Obama is looking out for them with abortion rights and paid for birth control. Now get out there and go screw the world! Gee, thanks Mr. President.
As in everything Lena Dunham she wants you to ignore her utter hypocrisy in clearly being too lazy to vote the first time she could have in 2004.
Typical Lena Dunham. Lazy. Not bother to do with you should. Demand other people do it. Sexualize yourself. Act like a bratty little girl. Produce a bad result in your field (i.e. television show, now commercial). Scream sexism. Then wait for the press to cover it and start crowing about how that shows everyone loves you.
When will she just go away already? And when will Hollywood and the entire press stop spinning for her? Seriously who does she know and who is bribing who to keep this charade up?
He’s pandering to youth for votes. Gross. Twenty and under will find this “cute” and it just goes to show how our society is being flushed down the toilet with all this “me-ism” and “ultra” feminism mentality. It’s sad to watch young women fall for it. I’m 36 and I know the young girls who will fall for this crap. America cried feminism in the 60′s and men stopped opening doors for us. Chivalry is all but dead. Wake up women. This is an insult.
Just like the fonz Obama has gone from mr. popular to jumping the shark. This is the moment that it happened, mark it down boys and girls.
What's really stupid about this particular ad is that in many states, the date to register to vote has passed. Oh look, the date for Ohio was Oct 9. For Colorado, too.
Which states/districts are still able to register to vote?
Alabama – ends today, so hurry ladies!
Connecticut – I think this one will be very interesting. Open til Oct 30, but given Hurricane Sandy.. get it done today!
D.C. – on election day itself
Idaho – ditto
Iowa – ditto ditto
Maine – etc.
Minnesota – ibid
Montana – yup
New Hampshire – again
New York – today
North Dakota doesn't have voter registration
Vermont – on Halloween
Washington – 10/29
I see there are caveats, but they're at the bottom of the page.
All that said, if a woman is so stupid to have been swayed by that commercial, they probably have not even heard of the concept of voter registration. And unless they're in one of those same day jurisdictions (and have their ID), this ad is just bringing on electoral blue balls, if I may mix my metaphors.
Hey, they started it.
For all the pre-mortem blaming of Bill Clinton for bad campaign strategy advice, I really cannot see him advising such a pathetic move. Because I don't find this so much disgusting as just plain sad. Also, the girl in Putin's ad was much more appealing… to men.
That's the upside of using Lena Dunham, I guess – she's cute enough (simply because she's young), but not so attractive that other women find her a threat in the sexually competitive sense. Also, that scrubbed CNN article about women voting with their ladyparts (can it hold a pen? pull a lever? Hmmm, I can think of some stage shows that would be interested….) – maybe Obama believed it?
Hey, the guy can barely do middle school math, forget about science.
Anyway, I hope I don't lose the internet the next week with Hurricane Sandy coming though the Northeast, because the total collapse of the Democrats is just too much entertainment.
Bonus material: bad endorsements of Obama, mainly from "celebrities" I've never heard of.
Oh, and I'll get those polls up in a few minutes, IFKWIMAITYD…. hold your horses.

I finally watched this sad piece of propaganda and I'm confused about one thing: is she really saying that TLC and Bravo (a couple of the "gayest" channels around) are anti-gay marriage?
A reminder for the ladies: if you're not a "hottie" (if I'm using the term correctly) to start with, a giant f*cking tatt on your arm won't make you one, and if you are a "hottie" to start with, then a giant f*cking tatt on your arm zeroes out your hotness.
